How we count

  • Hours. Volunteers clock in and out when they work. When a volunteer forgets to clock out, the shift is closed at the session's scheduled end.
  • Value of time. Each shift is valued at the New Mexico hourly rate for the year it was worked.
  • Tools in service. Tools that are on our shelves and available to borrow. Tools that are out for repair or retired are not counted.

How this page is made

These numbers come from the Labor Hub's own records: volunteer clock-ins, the tool inventory and the sign-up sheets. A program reads those records, counts them and writes this page, and it keeps a record of exactly what it counted each time so any figure can be checked. The page is refreshed once a month, and the date at the top says when.

Built by our volunteers

The Labor Hub runs on tools our own volunteers built: barcode scanning at the desk, online sign-ups and clock-ins, and a public calendar of local meetings.
